Sub Committee on Citizen’s Council<br />
<strong>Belknap</strong> <strong>County</strong> Commissioner’s Meeting Room<br />
January 19, <strong>2009</strong> 10:00 am.<br />
Members Present: Beth Arsenault, Chairman, and Judith Reever<br />
Members Absent: Richard Stuart, Peter Bolster<br />
Also Present: Alan Robichaud, Director Citizens Council, Gil Schohan, Citizens<br />
Council, Debra Shackett, <strong>County</strong> Administrator, Alida Millham, Delegation<br />
Chair, and Jim Pilliod, <strong>County</strong> Delegation.<br />
Director Robichaud reviewed the Commissioner’s budget recommendation and<br />
explained many of the programs and initiatives the Council is presently involved<br />
with. He presented materials explaining the background, achievements, and goals<br />
of the Council.<br />
There was extensive discussion about the need for support of children in the community<br />
and the value of court diversion services. The Council facilitates and<br />
coordinates many of these activities.<br />
There was general consensus that the <strong>County</strong> should continue paying for Citizen’s<br />
Council.<br />
The two absent members will meet with the Council Director to review this meeting<br />
and then the Sub Committee will meet again to make a recommendation on<br />
the budget.<br />
The meeting was adjourned at 11:30 am.<br />
