Fundraiser for
First Night Talbot
Sea lovers and landlubbers of all ages
will enjoy “A Chesapeake Christmas,” a
fundraiser to benefit First Night Talbot and
Talbot Partnership for Alcohol and Other
Drug Abuse Prevention. The event will be
held on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 7pm
at the Talbot County Historical Society Auditorium
in Easton. Steeped in maritime
traditions, this family-friendly alcohol-free
event will feature an evening of music by
talented singer-songwriters Janie Meneely
and Paul Diblasi, joined by their musician
friends William Pint and Felicia Dale.
The event will thread together spoken
word and song reflecting the Bay in winter
and sailors abroad during the holidays. Students
who have participated with Meneely
recently in a songwriting workshop at the
St. Michaels Community Center will perform
their newly written song during the
performance. Over 20 years ago Meneely
authored the book, “Santa and the Skipjack”
with illustrator Marcy Dunn Ramsey.
Meneely will be on hand for a book signing
with books available for purchase. A
Christmas Shop in the lobby that evening
will provide an opportunity to buy CDs by
the musicians (“stocking stuffers” to be
sure!) and First Night Talbot admission buttons
for the advance price of $8 for adults
and $4 for students.
First Night Talbot, an alcohol-free
family New Year’s Eve event celebrating
the Arts in downtown Easton since 1993,
has continued to be a popular community
event. This New Year’s Eve celebration
features a variety of programming for all
ages, including magicians, musical entertainment,
dance, theatre, gospel, films, and
the renowned “Maryland Crab Drop”
countdown at 9pm and midnight - with parades
of sea creatures! Janie Meneely, Paul
Diblasi, William Pint, and Felicia Dale, will
return for a repeat performance as well.

Chesapeake Christmas” are $20 for adults
and $10 for students (children under 5 are
free) and can be purchased at the door. To
