Auditions for Tred Avon Players
flee their bleak marriages in post WWI
England to a holiday villa in Italy. Among
the wisteria bushes and Mediterranean sunshine,
with a surprise stopover by their husbands,
their lives bloom again in a
comically restorative journey of discovery.

play and has endless energy. ROSE (Age
25 to 60) is a very proper English housewife
with strong morals. LADY CARO-
LINE (Age 25 to 50) is a single,
sophisticated socialite looking for changes
in her life. MRS GRAVES (Age 60 to 85)
is a feisty dowager, stately and dignified
with an unmistakable air of grandeur, but
still she is not without humor. COSTANZA
(Age 50 to 85) with an Italian accent) She
is the housekeeper of the Italian villa with
a ‘tongue in cheek’ humor.
Needed are three men: MELLERSH
(Age 30 to 70) is a very frugal somewhat
stuffy English solicitor and is the demanding
husband of Lotty. FREDERICK (Age
30 to 70) is a novelist enjoying his climb
up the social ladder. WILDING (Age 25 to
60) is the owner of the Italian villa and is a
very likable handsome gentleman who
knows how to charm the ladies.
The story is a beautiful saga of four divergent
women attempting to counteract
the gloomy aspects of their various
lives by renting a lovely Italian
villa during the enchanting
month of April. In this peaceful
splendor these courageous
women recapture their sense of
self and their renewed joy of life
and love.
Auditions from the script, no
parts pre-cast. English accent attempts
encouraged. All newcomers
to theater and TAP are
welcome. Age variations are possible.
