The monthly publication is provided to Chicagoland Sports Car Club members as part of the annual membership deliverable and commitment from the Club. The Downshift is also available to interested parties for $1.50 per issue (postage included). Material published herein may be reprinted provided that the usage is credited to the author, and the Chicagoland Sports Car Club. July 22, 2009 CSCC Meeting Minutes Minutes of the July 22nd, 2009 Chicagoland Sports Car Club General Membership and BOD Meeting Attendees: Mike Schindlbeck, Dale Kofoed, Frank Riemann, Larry Best, Frank Hartl, Alden Wells, Lois Berg- Wells, Rich Cwik, Bill Boesen, Gary Weis, Walter Modelski, Marcia Modelski, Jay Busse. Food was ordered around 7:23 pm and arrived around 7:55 pm. The meeting was called to order at 8:21pm by the pounding of the President’s new gavel (let the minutes reflect the new Stainless Steel Gavel was a gift from Mr. Alden Wells). There was a motion to approve the minutes by Mr. Wells, seconded by Mr. Schindlbeck- passed. Treasurer’s Report: (LB) We still have money in the Treasury. On 7-22, we paid the Meadowdale web hosting bill (we sponsor their website) , Downshift expenses, some office supplies & postage, and some meeting expenses. We have two new members, Ivan Amaya and Jordan Denhoed. Chris Schreyer was a mid-season renewal. Move to accept Treasurer’s report (AW) &2nd (FH)-pass. Old Business: The By Laws- No actions at this time, but many suggestions are coming in. We’ll discuss further next month. TLR - We (the BOD) are all in favor of retaining the event name as” Chicagoland’s Loooong Race”, as it was last year- an identity marketing measure (as it were). This will better reflect the club’s continuous association with the event for nearly 40 years. Motion to retain “Chicagoland’s Loooong Race” as the name instead of “That Loooong Race” as the official event name. -pass. CLR schedule: GW printed up a bunch of variations but left them all at home. He will bring them to the August meeting where the format WILL be decided. Come and speak out for the format you desire! CLR’s budget has increased - the track rental is up $1000.00, from last year, insurance is up as well (to $2242.00). We have to source our own pizza this year, but beer will be dispensed on a per glass basis (we’ll probably save here since we don’t have to buy a whole half barrel to get those other three glasses). WE NEED A SATURDAY NIGHT FOOD CO-ORDINATOR! CSCC will print and mail entry forms to competitors. Loooong Race Staffers Need: - Pit and Grid Marshalls - Tech People - A Registrar (Training is readily available) - Sound Control Workers - Go-Fers - Main Gate People - Corner Workers - You name it, it’s available! The Milwaukee Mile is on. The Milwaukee Mile Corp. is bankrupt, but State Fair Park management took over and is managing with a view towards club racing, instead of Pro events. The 2009 MC Banquet will be the third Saturday of January and NSSCC is the organizing club. The Auto-X Chairman of the week is Todd Simpson. Steward’s Committee-nothing The Rule-A-Thon is August 15th- Auto-X in the morning, W2W at 1:00pm- If you have a proposed rules change submit 10 copies to Ray Jackson at the meeting. A few people have stepped forward and nominated themselves for MC Board positions. The Meadowdale Car Show date is Saturday, September 19th. CSCC was incorporated on September 18th, 1959, after being in existence for one year as a club There was much discussion about illegal ATV activity in the paddock- a suggestion was made to take a digital picture of it and submit it to the Stewards for action.
