Financial Statements 23. Related Party Transactions For the purposes of these financial statements, parties are considered to be related if one party has the ability to control the other party or exercise significant influence over the other party in making financial or operational decisions as defined by IAS 24 “Related Party Disclosures”. In considering each possible related party relationship, attention is directed to the substance of the relationship, not merely the legal form. Banking transactions are entered into in the normal course of business with significant shareholders, directors, companies with which the Bank has significant shareholders in common and other related parties. These transactions include settlements, placements, deposit taking and foreign currency transactions. These transactions are priced at market rates. Financial Statements The remuneration of directors and key executives is determined by the Raiffeisen International management having regard to the performance of individuals and market trends. The Managing Board related expense for 2006 amounted to EUR 421 thousand (2005: EUR 465 thousand).
