The Performance DNA Toolkit is<br />

Module 3<br />

“Select<strong>in</strong>g HPI Solutions”<br />

After discover<strong>in</strong>g and analyz<strong>in</strong>g<br />

performance issues, the next step <strong>in</strong><br />

HPI is to determ<strong>in</strong>e the best solution.<br />

More than 80% of the time, performance<br />

problems are caused not by a lack of<br />

knowledge or skill, but by other human<br />

factors. This module exam<strong>in</strong>es the various<br />

causes of poor performance, which<br />

generally fall <strong>in</strong>to one of six categories:<br />

1) Knowledge<br />

2) Information<br />

3) Physical Resources<br />

4) Structure/Process<br />

5) Motives, and<br />

6) Wellness.<br />

A skilled HPI specialist needs to select<br />

the solution most likely to improve<br />

performance <strong>in</strong> a cost-effective manner.<br />

They also need to monitor and manage<br />

the implementation process to ensure<br />

that the solutions are follow<strong>in</strong>g the<br />

prescription. This skill-build<strong>in</strong>g module<br />

provides practical tools and experience<br />

for build<strong>in</strong>g seamless delivery of those<br />

solutions.<br />
