KA Gardeners
As the Kindergarten year comes to an end our class will be enjoying farm fresh salad from
the vegetables that we have been nurturing all winter. Our lettuce is ready and we are
waiting for our tomatoes to ripen. We will also enjoy a visit to our local farm to see all the
animals and foods grown in Manitoba.
KBs on the Farm
MOO… BAA…CLUCK…OINK…what’s all that racket in KB? We have been learning all about
the farm. Here are some farm facts: Sheep give us wool. Pigs stay cool by rolling in the
mud. Farmers use scarecrows to keep the birds away from their garden. Cows give us milk
that we can use to make cheese, yogurt, butter and ice cream…yum! We had fun shaking a
jar of cream so that it turned into butter! We all got to taste the butter with some bread.
We celebrated our learning with a trip to Deer Meadow Farm. It was fun to meet a real-life
farmer and see all the baby animals!
