During this period also, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the implementing
organization (CREN) and the community stakeholder to maintain and sustain the project after the
project year.
b). The Implementation Phase: (three weeks) This is the implementation phase proper. In this
phase, we selected the best contractor that applied for the construction of the project. .
All the components of this project was actively in process of construction was completed. Here,
the project implementation committee monitored the day to day activities of work on site. This
helped to ensure quality of work at site.
This stage involved the gathering of materials, digging of the holes, laying of foundation, raising
the building to foundation level, dressing the pit holes, roofing, and painting..
c). Monitoring and Evaluation Phase: at this phase, CREN paid visits to project site to
ensure completion and quality of work done. The committee members drafted plans on how to
sustain the projects since the project is theirs
d). Commissioning/lecture on Hygiene: We officially commissioned the project on the 10 th of
February, 2011. Many dignitaries were present including the government local education
authority. A lecture was given to the audience by Mr. Hassan Usman- a Social Studies teacher
on Environmental Health Sanitation and how to sustain the project was summarized by Mrs.
Osuagwu Glory. The teachers and community anf government representatives were very happy
for this great honour and assistance given to them.
10. Involved stakeholders: Parents/Teachers association formed a Project Implementation Committee
with the implementing organisation
11. Methodology of your projects or activities:
• The project started after series of stakeholders meeting
• The project was accepted by the community members
• The contract was awarded to contractors approved by the village head
• CREN monitored the project three times before the project is completed
• During the commissioning a health talk on environmental sanitation was given by Mr. Hassan
Usman
• Finally, the project was handed over to the community members and they promised to
continue to take care of the project in the future

• Three pit toilets constructed
• Over 451 Pupils and teachers have comfortable place to ease themselves of faeces and urine
• The environment is now void of indiscriminate dispose of faeces and urine
