• <strong>Adaptation</strong> measures for forestry<br />

- Enhanc<strong>in</strong>g afforestation, firstly <strong>in</strong> watershed, re-green<strong>in</strong>g and protect<strong>in</strong>g and<br />

develop<strong>in</strong>g mangrove forest;<br />

- Protect<strong>in</strong>g natural forest and prevent<strong>in</strong>g forest fire;<br />

- Establish<strong>in</strong>g seed banks <strong>of</strong> natural forest trees <strong>in</strong> order <strong>to</strong> protect some valuable<br />

varieties;<br />

- Select<strong>in</strong>g and develop<strong>in</strong>g plant varieties suitable <strong>to</strong> natural conditions tak<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong><strong>to</strong><br />

account <strong>climate</strong> <strong>change</strong>.<br />

• <strong>Adaptation</strong> measures for aquaculture<br />

- Import<strong>in</strong>g and develop<strong>in</strong>g valuable aquaculture varieties that could adapt <strong>to</strong> high<br />

temperature, for <strong>in</strong>stance sugpo prawn, green clawed crayfish, lobster, white bass, black<br />

bass, etc and <strong>in</strong>creas<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> depth <strong>of</strong> fish lakes, and ponds <strong>to</strong> create suitable temperature<br />

and mitigate losses due <strong>to</strong> <strong>in</strong>creased evaporation.<br />

- Chang<strong>in</strong>g farm<strong>in</strong>g structure <strong>in</strong> some wet areas from rice monoculture <strong>to</strong> fish-rice<br />

rotation system.<br />

- Tak<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong><strong>to</strong> account sea level rise and <strong>in</strong>crease <strong>of</strong> temperature when build<strong>in</strong>g<br />

<strong>in</strong>frastructures, quays, ports, warehouses, etc;<br />

- Build<strong>in</strong>g s<strong>to</strong>rm shelter port systems along <strong>the</strong> coast as well as close <strong>to</strong> islands;<br />

- Establish<strong>in</strong>g natural ecological reserves, especially coral reefs and a<strong>to</strong>lls.<br />

• <strong>Adaptation</strong> measures for energy and transport<br />

- Upgrade and reconstruct transport <strong>in</strong>frastructure <strong>in</strong> areas <strong>of</strong>ten threatened by sea level<br />

rise and flood.<br />

• <strong>Adaptation</strong> measures for health care<br />

- Accelerate <strong>the</strong> implementation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> programme ‘Elim<strong>in</strong>at<strong>in</strong>g hunger and reduc<strong>in</strong>g<br />

poverty’, improv<strong>in</strong>g socioeconomic standard <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> people, especially <strong>of</strong> those <strong>in</strong><br />

remote areas with many economic difficulties. Meanwhile, improve public knowledge<br />

on family sanitation and culture through national programme such as ‘Clean water and<br />

environmental sanitation’, ‘Garden – pond – breed<strong>in</strong>g facilities’, ‘Biogas’, etc.
