Membership
All full-time student teachers are automatically registered as
members of LIBRIS. Your matriculation card is your library card. If
you lose your card, please report the loss to the Loan Counter
immediately to prevent unauthorised use of the card.
Collection
LIBRIS houses approximately 400,000 volumes of books, 86,000 e-
book titles, 800 print journal titles, 31,000 e-journal titles, 45,000
volumes of AV materials, 4,600 digital video titles, 105 databases
and 4,800 items in the digital repository. Special collections include
the Singapore Educational Resources Collection, the C.J. Koh
Collection which focuses on teacher education/teaching methods,
and instructional resources for teachers.
Photocopying and Printing Services
Cashcard- and EZlink card-operated photocopiers and network
printers are available on all levels of the library. Other services
provided by the vendor include laminating, binding, scanning, sale
and top-up of cashcards.
Learning Spaces
The LearningHub on Level 3 provides a conducive environment to
promote information sharing and collaborative learning in NIE.
Facilities available include a general area for informal gatherings or
official events; a lounge with multimedia players and plasma
displays; a SMART (Sharing, Multidisciplinary, Autonomous,
Reflective and Technology-enabled) Room equipped with interactive
whiteboard technology; and a lifestyle café.
