allspice, anise and rose petals.
On the palate the wine is well
balanced with flavors of bright
red fruit, cranberry, raspberry
and cassis, along with lingering
hints of chocolate and cherry.
For visitors interested in
crafting their own special wine
blend, Bennett Lane offers a
unique hands-on winemaking
adventure called “Varietals, Fruit
& Flavor.” Participants are introduced
to the winemaking process
through a vineyard tour and
discussion of the soil, weather
and landscape conditions
required for growing each grape.
Participants visit Bennett Lane’s
“petting vineyard” to learn about
the vines and foliage of different
varietals.
After the vineyard tour, guests
smell and taste Merlot, Cabernet
Sauvignon and Syrah along with
a variety of aromatics that represent
the essential qualities and
flavor profiles of each varietal.
The aromatics session culminates
with Bennett Lane’s custom
blending experience, where the
novice winemakers are invited to
blend, bottle, cork and label their
own personalized version of
Bennett Lane’s Maximus red
feasting wine. The adventure
ends with a cheese and wine
pairing featuring Bennett Lane’s
current releases sampled on the
winery’s beautiful patio.

Bennett Lane’s tasting room
is open daily from 10 a.m. to
