llam<strong>as</strong> along the winding drive through the Santa Cruz Mountains<br />

each winery h<strong>as</strong> a flavor that will leave you wanting more. “The trail<br />

is half the experience! There are many attributes to the wide variety<br />

of this Premier Mountain appellation,” say’s Shannon Flynn Operations<br />

Manager of the SCMWA. “The intimate feel you get from these<br />

wineries is unlike other regions. You typically see or meet the winemakers<br />

and you know the wine is hand crafted to perfection.”<br />

From Ahlgren to Zayante the <strong>Wine</strong>ries of the Santa Cruz Mountains<br />

will once more open their doors to P<strong>as</strong>sport participants on<br />

Saturday, April 16th, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. The P<strong>as</strong>sport<br />

Program offers a unique opportunity for visitors to visit wineries not<br />

typically open to the public at other times. P<strong>as</strong>sport holders will be<br />

invited to tour the facilities, meet the winemakers and sample the<br />

fruits of their labors – including special wines poured only for participants<br />

in the P<strong>as</strong>sport Program! P<strong>as</strong>sports are valid until all wineries<br />

have been visited. P<strong>as</strong>sports are only $40 per person and the best part<br />

is the P<strong>as</strong>sport never expires!<br />

Wrath <strong>Wine</strong>ry Hosts ‘Que Syrah’<br />

Santa Lucia Highlands’ Top Producers Get Together<br />

to Showc<strong>as</strong>e Extraordinary Syrahs<br />

Monterey County’s Wrath <strong>Wine</strong>ry will be hosting Que Syrah on<br />

March 19th. The event is a celebration of cool-climate Syrahs from<br />

the famed Santa Lucia Highlands region. The event gives wine lovers<br />

a rare opportunity to sample and purch<strong>as</strong>e small-production artisanal<br />

Syrah from some of the area’s top wineries including Big B<strong>as</strong>in,<br />

Boekenoogen, Hahn, Manzoni, Miura, Morgan, Novy, Paraiso,<br />

Pelerin, Pessagno and Wrath. Chef Brian Overhauser of the new<br />

Chef’s Kitchen at Hahn SLH Estate <strong>Wine</strong>ry will be offering samples of<br />

his famous wine-friendly cuisine prepared specifically to pair with<br />

Syrah.<br />

The event will be held on March 19, from noon to 4:30 p.m. at<br />

Wrath winery located at 35801 Foothill Rd., Soledad, California.<br />

Tickets are $25 in advance at (831) 678-2212 or at the door (while<br />
