Meadowcroft <strong>Wine</strong>s’ ‘Luck to the Irish’ <strong>Wine</strong> & Food Pairing<br />
While we may celebrating a few days early, Meadowcroft <strong>Wine</strong>s<br />
welcomes St. Patrick’s Day with a special wine and food pairing on<br />
Saturday, March 12 with seatings at noon, 2 and 4 p.m. Our resident<br />
leprechaun, Chef Darby, is a graduate of the Ballymaloe Cookery<br />
School (www.cookingisfun.ie) in County Cork, Ireland. She will be<br />
preparing a cl<strong>as</strong>sic Irish Pub fare. Needless to say, Darby knows how<br />
to speak (and cook) in Irish! The cost is $18 per person and reservations<br />
are recommended by calling the Meadowcroft t<strong>as</strong>ting room at<br />
(707) 934-4090. No green wine will be served at this event.<br />
The menu will feature Irish Colcannon Soup with sweet cream and<br />
to<strong>as</strong>ted hazelnuts, served with traditional Irish soda bread and paired<br />
with the 2009 Thom<strong>as</strong> Henry Verdelho; A selection of Irish Farmhouse<br />
Cheeses with Spiced Apple Chutney paired with the 2009<br />
Meadowcroft Chardonnay; and Banoffee Pie, a cl<strong>as</strong>sic Irish “pudding”<br />
or dessert, drizzled with our Meadowcroft Chocolate Cabernet Sauce<br />
paired with the 2007 Thom<strong>as</strong> Henry Merlot.<br />
Meadowcroft <strong>Wine</strong>s includes the Meadowcroft, Magito and<br />
Thom<strong>as</strong> Henry labels. <strong>Wine</strong>maker Tom Meadowcroft also makes the<br />
wines for the Foyt Family <strong>Wine</strong>s (www.foytfamilywines.com). There<br />
are presently 15 wines being poured at the t<strong>as</strong>ting room including the<br />
recently rele<strong>as</strong>ed 2008 Meadowcroft Sangiovese, the 2008 Meadowcroft<br />
Zinfandel and the 2008 Thom<strong>as</strong> Henry Cabernet Sauvignon.<br />
The t<strong>as</strong>ting room is part of the Cornerstone Sonoma (www.cornerstonesonoma.com)<br />
complex that features 22 world cl<strong>as</strong>s gardens, a<br />
gourmet café, art galleries and cutting edge design shops all set among<br />
acres of vineyards.<br />
Meadowcroft <strong>Wine</strong>s is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The<br />
venue is available for private parties, private t<strong>as</strong>tings, wine dinners and<br />
other events. With plenty of free parking at Cornerstone Sonoma, the<br />
area is a perfect setting for any type of event, both indoors or<br />
