ROTARY AND KAIRANGA COURTS<br />
SERVICES AND FACILITIES<br />
LOCATION / ADDRESS The Courts, <strong>University</strong> Drive.<br />
COMMUNITY Caters for age range 18-25 years.<br />
AVAILABILITY Rooms available for full semester periods.<br />
ROOMS 60 single rooms each.<br />
EACH ROOM HAS Single bed and bed linen, wardrobe,<br />
heating, study chair, desk, shelves, rubbish bin.<br />
EACH POD HAS One shower and one <strong>to</strong>ilet per four<br />
residents, one kitchen and lounge area.<br />
EACH HALL HAS Common room, TV and Sky connection,<br />
mini computer lab, central laundry facilities.<br />
TECHNOLOGY SERVICES Each Court has a mini computer<br />
lab with two computers and a printer, and is a short walk<br />
from the undergraduate and postgraduate computer labs<br />
on campus. Telephone line in each room. A broadband<br />
Internet service is available at a cost <strong>to</strong> the resident**.<br />
SUPPORT Two Residential Advisers for 60 students.<br />
<strong>Accommodation</strong> Services oversee community wellbeing<br />
and social activities. Short walk <strong>to</strong> free on-campus student<br />
services including Medical Centre, Student Counselling<br />
and Centre for Teaching and Learning.<br />
SECURITY All rooms and pods have locks, exterior<br />
gates have swipe-card access for residents only. 24hour<br />
security staff patrol campus and are available for<br />
assistance.<br />
MEALS Kairanga and Rotary Courts are generally selfcatered<br />
halls, and residents have facilities <strong>to</strong> cook their<br />
own meals. Alternatively residents can purchase meals at<br />
the Food Court/Dining Hall. The Courts are a two-minute<br />
walk from the central food court.<br />
TRANSPORT Two-minute walk <strong>to</strong> central bus s<strong>to</strong>p on<br />
campus, regular free bus service <strong>to</strong> the city and between<br />
Turitea and Hokowhitu sites. Additional free bus service <strong>to</strong><br />
and from the city on Thursday and Saturday nights.<br />

PARKING Limited secure parking available in the Workshop<br />
Road carpark, with back-up parking in the Orchard<br />
Road carpark. The cost is $80 per semester, plus a $20<br />
refundable bond*.<br />
STUDY-RELATED SERVICES Study groups for specific first<br />
year papers. Close <strong>to</strong> Centre for Teaching and Learning,<br />
Library, Fale Pasifika and Kāinga Rua support services.<br />
SPORT, LEISURE AND CULTURE Regular inter- and intra-hall<br />
social, cultural and sporting activities. Close <strong>to</strong> Library,<br />
Music and Performance Room, International Community<br />
Centre, Recreation Centre, sports fields and courts, allweather<br />
athletic track and Equestrian Centre.<br />
