36 SERVICES AVAILABLE FOR OUR STUDENTS NGĀ RĀTONGA ĀKONGA We understand the importance of wider community life and campus experience to your university education. Our campuses provide a range of support and services for students – from accommodation and study advice to health and counselling services. Call 0800 MASSEY and ask for more information on Student Life Services or check out student-services.massey.ac.nz ACCOMMODATION There are a variety of accommodation options for Massey University students. Each campus has its own Accommodation Services, where students can get advice and support on all aspects of accommodation. CAREER AND EMPLOYMENT SERVICES There are career and employment offices on each campus. They provide a link between Massey and a wide range of employers, helping them fill both full-time graduate positions and summer internships. They also provide career planning advice and job-seeking skills regardless of where students are in their career thinking. Careers information is available to students and graduates at http://careerhub.massey.ac.nz including graduate vacancies, dates for workshops, presentations and the Career Fairs. Career Fairs are run in Auckland and Palmerston North. These help you to find holiday work as well as full-time jobs once you graduate. CHAPLAINCY There are a wide variety of faith and spirituality groups on Massey campuses, to serve the needs of students and staff. Christian groups for prayer and Bible study operate on all campuses. Muslim groups are active at Albany and Manawatū. On the Albany, Manawatū and Wellington campuses, Chaplains from a variety of Christian churches and a range of ethnicities are available to talk individually with people about personal matters or any other concerns related to life at the University. ACCOMMODATION | 2013 GUIDE ON WHERE TO LIVE CHILDCARE Massey offers a variety of childcare facilities and services at the Albany and Manawatū campuses. As they are very popular pre-booking is essential. Further information can be found at: http://childcare.massey.ac.nz TE URU KARAKA KŌHANGA REO Our Kōhanga Reo at Turitea on the Manawatū campus provides pre-school education in a total immersion Māori language environment for children of staff and students. CLUBS AND SOCIETIES There’s a club to suit everyone at Massey, with a huge range of sporting, activity, political and cultural clubs to choose from. While at Massey, make the most of the clubs – it’s a great way to meet new people, get involved and broaden your horizons and social network. COMPUTING Massey's Information Technology Services provides students with a range of computer facilities across all campuses, and over the Internet. All students are assigned a Massey student usercode and an email address. This can be used to access online services such as course and campus information, email and enrolment online. Students can also access their email and the Internet from computer labs and halls’ mini-labs, see itslabs.massey.ac.nz DISABILITY SERVICES The university has specialist staff available to assist students with disabilities. These services are available for on-campus and distance students and are designed to make the tertiary learning environment more accessible, comfortable and hassle-free.
