PROFESSIONAL AND CONTINUING
EDUCATION (PaCE)
The Centre for Professional and Continuing Education
offers programmes at all three campuses including the:
Direct Entry English Pathway, English Language (ESOL),
and Certificates in Foundation Studies and University
Preparation. The Centre also delivers professional
development, international and university preparation short
courses. PaCE organises homestay accommodation for
students and short course participants while studying. Call
0800 MASSEY to contact your closest PaCE support staff.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
The International Student Support Office (ISSO) at each
campus provides comprehensive advice and welfare
services to all international students, and is also a
resource centre for students and their families. ISS staff
can assist you to work through any difficulties you may
experience while studying in New Zealand.
ONLINE TOOL SET
A range of new online tools are available to help you plan
your studies and to provide you with support as you go.
LEARNING SUPPORT
The Centre for Teaching and Learning is an academic
learning support service that helps students to be
successful in their university study. It helps with essay
and exam preparation and study techniques, gives advice
on preparing written and oral presentations and helps
students to get the best out of lectures and tutorials.
In February of each year, short study skills courses are
offered for first-year students.
MATHS FIRST
The Maths First website (http://mathsfirst.massey.
ac.nz) is designed to promote individual learning
in mathematics and is committed to helping you
achieve success in your studies. You’ll find
resources, exercises and quizzes on several
topics including arithmetic, algebra,
trigonometry and calculus that will help
you brush up your numeracy skills.

MEDICAL
All campuses have health professionals
including doctors, nurses, counsellors
and physiotherapists working at the
centres. In addition to this the Albany and
Wellington Campuses also have a nutritionist
available. Visits to the doctor are generally free if you
are Primary Health Organisation (PHO) enrolled with the
service.
STUDENT COUNSELLING
A counselling service operates on all campuses to
assist students who may be experiencing personal and
emotional problems, study difficulties or family concerns.
Staffed by professional counsellors, psychologists and
psychotherapists, the services offer individual and
confidential support, workshops and support free-ofcharge,
to all students.
WOW
WOW seminars are specifically designed to support
student development. Seminars cover a range of topics
to encourage: self-management, self-awareness, skill
development, self-care, healthy choices for physical and
psychological wellbeing and healthy relationships.
