THE CREATIVE CAMPUS Massey University Wellington is centrally located so you can easily take advantage of everything on offer in the city. Accommodation for students is adjacent to the campus, just a short walk to the famous Cuba Street, Courtenay Place and Lambton Quay entertainment and shopping areas, as well as the city’s Central Business District. Like the city, the campus has a compact and friendly atmosphere that is vibrant and fresh. It includes the historic refurbished Museum Building - Tokomaru, and the new state-of-the-art creative arts building Te Ara Hihiko, opened in 2012. Wellington International Airport, the Interisland Ferry Terminal and the Railway Station are just a 15 minute drive away. Massey Wellington offers a diverse range of internationally recognised programmes across health, sport science, business, communication and the creative arts. It is the home of the internationally renowned School of Design, established in 1886, as well as the Schools of Fine Arts and Visual and Material Culture. It is also home to New Zealand's oldest and most respected School of Journalism, and the New Zealand School of Music, in partnership with Victoria University. Key student services and facilities include a recreation centre, a gym, the Student Centre with common rooms and a study area, a bookshop, and the Tussock Café and Bar, whanau and pasifika rooms. 32 THE CUBE THE CUBE COMPLEX IS SITUATED JUST ACROSS FROM THE CAMPUS’S HERITAGE MUSEUM BUILDING ON THE CORNER OF TARANAKI AND WEBB STREETS. IT’S A SHORT TEN-MINUTE WALK TO THE CITY CENTRE WITH ITS CAFÉS, RESTAURANTS, ART GALLERIES, LIBRARY, THEATRES AND SHOPS. THE CUBE IS ALSO CLOSE TO THE VIBRANT NIGHTLIFE OF CENTRAL WELLINGTON. Of the 84 self-catering units, you have a choice of fivebedroom or three-bedroom or twin share studio units. All fully furnished, they contain everything you need to study, relax and cook. The apartments include a dining room table and a lounge suite. Each bedroom is provided with a telephone connection for phone or Internet use. SERVICES AND FACILITIES LOCATION / ADDRESS Corner Taranaki and Webb Streets, Wellington. ROOMS 285 beds in 84 self-contained fully furnished units, made up of five-bedroom and three-bedroom and twin share studio units. EACH ROOM HAS Double bed (studios have two single beds), desk, chair, wardrobe, pin board, telephone/modem line (all connections to a service providers are at the student’s expense). EACH UNIT HAS Lounge/dining area, a bathroom and separate toilet, fully equipped kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave and cooking utensils (studios have cook top), coin operated laundry. TECHNOLOGY SERVICES Telephone/modem line (all connections to a service provider are at the student’s expense). SECURITY SERVICES Accommodation staff live on-site for security, support and assistance. MEALS Self-catering. TRANSPORT SERVICES Close to town and on a number of public bus routes. SUPPORT SERVICES Residential Manager and staff are always available to assist with student concerns. STUDY-RELATED SERVICES None on-site, but close to Massey Campus study facilities. SPORT, CULTURE AND LEISURE Regular activities on campus.
