For the 2010 season, the Knights Racing garage has produced a vehicle that they
feel will be the most competitive vehicle yet to roll out of the shop. The KR10 has
been completely redesigned from the tires up, to be the best it can be.
The chassis is both torsionally stronger and lighter than the ‘08 and ‘09 cars,
and while dimensionally smaller the ‘10 car has more driver room due to
better planned driver controls. The suspension geometry has been completely
redesigned with all components designed by the team tweaked to try and remove
as much unsprung mass as possible. The drivetrain is similar to ‘09, with the
Honda F4i being used for it’s unfailing reliability, but new to ‘10 is the use of the
Haltech Platinum Sport 1000 giving us fully sequential fuel and spark control.
The drivetrain is also similar utilizing a Torsen differential in a custom aluminum
housing. Braking is handled by Wilwood PS1 calipers, MCP master cylinders, and
outboard disk brakes. The bodywork this year was kept simple with the use of
Lexan side panels and a fiberglass/Kevlar nosecone.
Overall Knights Racing feels strongly that we have produced a highly competitive
car for the 2010 season.
