Christmas shoot Results December 19th 2009
A big thank you to the Thames Clay Target club for allowing
the event to be hosted at their grounds. Thanks to everyone who
helped out on the day, Don McCarthy and Richard Boenders for
their help with trap setting and loading, Martin van de Wetering and
Diane Boenders running the office and Martin as well for organizing
squads to help the event run smoother. Nola in the kitchen for a
superb lunch and refreshments during the day. A big thanks to
Wayne Cowley for his cash sponsorship to help pay for the prizes
and Ron Dent for providing the raffle prizes.
The shoot was a condensed program with just 150 singles shot in
3 visits to the traps. Everyone did the first hundred before lunch. The
weather cooperated with just a light breeze and overcast at times to
add a little more challenge and require a better job of focusing with
just one shot. Thanks to everyone who made the effort to attend
and make the day a success.
Thank you to the Thames Clay Target club for providing superb
facilities and help for us to hold our events. If you haven’t shot at
the Thames club we suggest you put on your list a day of shooting
at a great facility with consistent regulation set targets, no politics,
bullshit or personal interests, just wonderful hospitality and a
great day.
Thanks to everyone who helped out on the day, the regulars
Don McCarthy, Richard Boenders and Wayne Cowley for their
help with trap setting and loading and a special thanks to Don
and Richard for the great job maintaining the clubs’ traps and
equipment. Having the traps well maintained makes throwing
consistently good targets that much easier. Martin van de Wetering
and Diane Boenders running the office, Nola in the kitchen for a
superb lunch and refreshments and all those who helped with
refereeing and scoring as well as making the effort to attend. The
weather cooperated all day with just a couple light sprinkles and
very little wind. The lighting posed a challenge at times though
with varying amounts of overcast but those who shot well showed
it could be done.
Dear Adrienne
We are writing to advise you and the executive of
the NZCTA that Pat and I have sold the section of
our business trading as “The Shooters Shop”
We will still retain the business “Earmold
Australia” After 35 years servicing the shooting
sports in Australia and the last 17 the New
Zealand sector we have decided to take it a
little easier.
This will in no way mean that we will not be
present at future NZ nationals albeit it a much
smaller capacity and although we will not be
attending this year we hope to visit again in
2011.
We hope that the new owners (Graeme Boyd and
Trina Adams) may well see their way clear in
the not to distant future to visit with you and
we hope you will extend to them the wonderful
friendship we have shared with you all.
Again our most heartfelt thanks
Kind Regards
Ray and Pat Mack
