Things you may not know about Keith:
• Married to Fay, has two sons, one daughter and three
grandchildren (ages seven, five and one year six months)
• Previously an athlete. Had NZ record for 3 mile track for Juniors
(U18) but record disallowed as there were only two stop
watches and there should have been three. Holder of all road
race records at Matamata College and still has the record for
Road Race and one mile. Member of the New Zealand Cross
Country team but got injured before competed in Morocco.
Holds numerous Waikato titles for athletics.
• Keith was a professional deer hunter on ground and
by helicopter around central North Island. Has hunted
extensively in NZ including Fiordland, Stewart Island and the
Southern Alps. After the second major helicopter crash Fay
insisted on him giving it up as they had young children at
that time.
• Worked at Post Office, including working at Gisborne as Post
Master. Got promoted to Te Puke as manager of Savings Bank,
and then seconded by Chief Post Master for special duties,
followed by appointment to Post Office Head Office to write
long runs

Ministerial Replies for Jonathan Hunt (Post Master General).
Appointed to Wellington bank planning team to convert
Post Offices to Post Banks and split staff between Post Office,
Telecom and NZ Post. Made all appointments for Post Bank
in Wellington area. Prepared bank for sale and handled
redundancies. Resigned from bank and started in retail.
• Currently runs four retail outlets and a family business. Very
involved in property management.
• Started Clay shooting in 1978 due to an interest in firearms.
• Son Craig was involved in shooting and won NZ Double Rise
title but now no longer competes.
• Very avid and successful trout fisherman.
• Sees the Association having greater participation by new
shooters entering the sport. Would like to see integration
of school age competitors into
clubs. Would like to encourage
International success by a greater
number of athletes. Would like
National Executive to have a
more Governance role.
