● Mountain Region:<br />

Jackson <strong>Lions</strong> had a most remarkable meeting in<br />

September – in a cave! In <strong>the</strong> Sutter Gold Mine<br />

out <strong>of</strong> Amador City to be exact – with 60 members!<br />

History shows <strong>the</strong>ir members in <strong>the</strong> Argonaut<br />

Gold Mine in 1932, soooo <strong>the</strong>y tried to recreate a<br />

similar scene with present members. Also <strong>the</strong>y<br />

have celebrated Lion Jerry Carpenter’s 90 th<br />

Birthday! Served breakfast for 350 at Annual<br />

Campout for Cancer at Argonaut H S.<br />

Garrotte <strong>Lions</strong> – worked 49er Festival & Chili<br />

Cook Off as well as Bingo Night with Dinner as<br />

fundraisers.<br />

San Andreas 49er Breakfast <strong>Lions</strong> – are<br />

supporting a Region Chair and a Zone Chair this<br />

year. Both went to <strong>the</strong> USA Canada Forum in<br />

Saskatchewan. Are having a Casino Night with<br />

West Point <strong>Lions</strong> on <strong>the</strong> 18 th .<br />

Murphys Angels <strong>Lions</strong> – celebrating 58 th<br />

anniversary this year. Major donations to<br />

Logging Museum and Athletic Complex<br />

matched by money from <strong>the</strong> state!<br />

Arnold <strong>Lions</strong> – Labor Day breakfast with<br />

Eyemobile; donation for scholarships.<br />

Also heard from West Point <strong>Lions</strong>, Sonora<br />

<strong>Lions</strong>, Up Country 88. That’s 8 clubs out <strong>of</strong> 16<br />

clubs.<br />

● Yosemite Region:<br />

Chowchilla Lioness <strong>Lions</strong> – are having a<br />

Harvest Fest on 11/15. Sounds like fun!<br />

Sierra Oakhurst <strong>Lions</strong> have gone on visitations<br />

and brought in 5 NEW MEMBERS! Also have<br />

had a blood drive and monthly bingo and lunch<br />

at senior center.<br />

Livingston <strong>Lions</strong> had an omelet breakfast. It<br />

was noted that a certain Lion was so tired that he<br />

left his wife at <strong>the</strong> hall. She had to hitch a ride<br />

home!<br />

Madera Breakfast <strong>Lions</strong> – had food concessions<br />

at <strong>the</strong> Madera <strong>District</strong> Fair and had to<br />

put a lot <strong>of</strong> hours into it.<br />

Delhi Ballico <strong>Lions</strong> had <strong>the</strong>ir usual successful<br />

Pig in <strong>the</strong> Park.<br />

Madera Evening <strong>Lions</strong> served 350 breakfasts at<br />

Grandparents Day. Also helped with National<br />

Clean Up Day at Hensley Lake. Also helped <strong>the</strong><br />

Madera Leo Club with car wash fundraiser for<br />

shoes for <strong>child</strong>ren. Made $1600!<br />

Merced Breakfast <strong>Lions</strong> did highway cleanup,<br />

cooked 4 meals for fundraisers for various<br />

community charities, and provided eyeglasses<br />

for 3 <strong>child</strong>ren.<br />

Atwater Winton <strong>Lions</strong> have been very busy<br />
