●CONGRATULATIONS TO PDG
PAT DIMOND on her selection to the
Global Membership Team (GMT) ●
The GMT consists of 41 Lions through-out the world
appointed by International President Al Brandel for a
three year term. The GMT members are to follow up
with DGs and District MERL teams after reviewing
quarterly reports from LCI and where necessary
provide motivation, training, and/or suggestions
regarding LCI initiatives to achieve the desired
member results. We are to provide feedback on
district membership activities to the GMT Chair, the
International President and the LCI Membership
Development Committee.
We are to work with the Multiple District councils to
develop a MD three-year membership plan, assist
with membership related training, offer guidance and
assistance as needed.
I have been assigned the MDs of Oregon/Idaho, CA,
Nevada and Hawaii. (Tough duty but someone has to
do it! ED) It is a very exciting opportunity to work
with Lion Leaders providing for Membership Growth
and Retention. Please let me know if I may be of
assistance to any of our clubs in working with our
MERLO Team.
Our District Membership Report for July-September
shows 60 new members and 71 dropped members
with a net loss of 11. I know we can get our District
back to a positive count. Let’s work together to make
the next report show our positive growth! ●

DOCTOR STORY:
I was performing a complete
physical, including
the visual acuity test. I
placed the patient 20 feet
from the chart and began,
“Cover your right eye
with your hand.” He read
the 20/20 line perfectly.
“Now your left.” Again,
a flawless read.
“Now both,” I requested. There was silence. He
couldn’t even read the large E on the top line. I
turned and discovered that he had done exactly what I
had asked; he was standing there with both his eyes
covered.
I was laughing too hard to finish the exam.
