LTC Teresa Hendrix<br />
LTC Teresa Hendrix is the current Army Nurse Corps Historian in the Office of the Chief of the<br />
Army Nurse Corps. In this role she examines and critically analyzes historic events to<br />
determine lessons learned to guide future nursing practices and policies.<br />
Her military career began as a Navy Corpsman. She commissioned into the U.S. Army Reserves<br />
in 1986 and entered active duty in 1990. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a<br />
Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the <strong>University</strong> of South Florida, a Masters of Nursing<br />
Administration from <strong>University</strong> of Phoenix, a Masters in Science in Nurse Midwifery from the<br />
<strong>University</strong> of Texas Medical Branch, and a PhD in Nursing from The Ohio State <strong>University</strong>. She<br />
is a graduate of the Medical Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Combined Arms Services<br />
Staff School, and Command and General Staff College.<br />
LTC Hendrix has been assigned to various Medical Treatment Facilities throughout the Army<br />
including a Combat Casualty Research Team in Balad, Iraq, 121st Field Hospital in Germany,<br />
Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, 121st General Hospital in Korea, Tripler Army Medical<br />
Center, Eisenhower Army Medical Center, and Darnall Army Medical Center. Her clinical<br />
expertise is in Women’s Health, Maternal Child Nursing, and Neonatal Nursing, and she is a<br />
subject matter expert on violence against women and sexual violence.<br />
Her awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters,<br />
Army Commendation Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with 3 oak leaf<br />
clusters, Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal with 1 star, Iraq<br />
Campaign Medal with 2 campaign stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean<br />
Defense Service Medal, Army Armed Forces Reserve Medal, and Army Service Medal. She is a<br />
member of the Order of Military Medical Merit.<br />
LTC Hendrix is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing,<br />
Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing, American College of Nurse<br />
Midwives and Association of Military Surgeons of the United States. She has held a variety of<br />
positions in the Army Nurse Corps including a staff nurse, chief of nursing administration,<br />
chief of nursing research, nurse scientist, and chief of maternal child nursing.
