TRIM Functional Configuration
This section covers the configuration of TRIM Context as an Electronic Document or
Records Management system within the information management policies of your
organization.
Interfaces
Changes have been made to the user interfaces. Whereas all the underlying
paradigms and functionality, such as List Panes, View Panes, TRIM Viewer, Toolbars,
Status Bar etc. still apply, it needs to be considered what amount of communication
is necessary to bring the end users up-to-date.
Personalized user items (for example, Saved Searches) are not upgraded and will
need to be recreated in TRIM Context by each user.
TRIM Context ice is the new Internet Browser interface to TRIM Context that may be
considered as an alternative client.
Functionality
The functionality and concepts of TRIM Captura have been carried forward into TRIM
Context, however with the interface update a lot of functions can be performed in a
more user-friendly manner.
Some of the existing functionality has been improved and some new functionality
added. Although the new functionality cannot be applied until after the upgrade, it
makes sense to look at what is available and plan any changes.
Familiarize yourself with the changes to existing functionality and assessing their
impact on your system.
