B - Settling claims under Section 3<br />

How We settle a claim<br />

We will, at Our option, replace the lost or<br />

damaged item or pay for the cost of repair or<br />

current replacement value.<br />

We will not make a deduction for wear and<br />

tear from the amount of the claim payment<br />

except for clothing, and Sports Equipment.<br />

If You claim for an item specified in Your<br />

Schedule, You will need to provide proof<br />

of the item’s value. We recommend that<br />

You keep copies of valuations, receipts,<br />

photographs and instruction booklets to<br />

help You do this.<br />

The Sum Insured will not be reduced by a<br />

claims payment unless the claim relates to<br />

the total loss of any specified item, or We<br />

pay the full Sum Insured.<br />

Amount payable<br />

The maximum amount payable for any<br />

one incident, unless it says otherwise in<br />

Endorsements or the ‘Personal Possessions’<br />

section of the Schedule will be the total Sum<br />

Insured on Personal Possessions shown on<br />

the Schedule, subject to the following limits:<br />

Specified Items<br />

> The Sum Insured by any item specifically<br />

listed on the Schedule.<br />

Unspecified Personal Possessions<br />

> £1000 for any one item.<br />

Money<br />

> The limit shown on the Schedule.<br />
