d. Provide connections to prevent air leakage and vapor migration at all<br />

adjacent construction.<br />

1.4 SUBMITTALS<br />

A. Product Data: Submit manufacturer’s product data for each product proposed for use in<br />

<strong>the</strong> system, manufacturer's printed instructions for evaluating, preparing, and treating<br />

substrate, temperature and o<strong>the</strong>r limitations <strong>of</strong> installation conditions, technical data,<br />

and tested physical and performance properties.<br />

1. Submit letter from primary materials manufacturer indicating approval <strong>of</strong><br />

products not manufactured by primary manufacturer.<br />

2. Include statement that materials are compatible with adjacent construction.<br />

3. Submit reports indicating that field adhesion test on all materials to which<br />

sealants are adhered have been performed and <strong>the</strong> changes made, if required, to<br />

o<strong>the</strong>r approved materials, in order to achieve successful adhesion.<br />

4. Include statement that materials/system has been tested and will comply with<br />

performance requirements <strong>of</strong> this specification.<br />

B. Shop Drawings: Submit shop drawings showing locations and extent <strong>of</strong> air and vapor<br />

barrier assemblies and details <strong>of</strong> each condition and intersections with adjacent<br />

construction <strong>of</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r envelope assemblies and materials utilizing shop drawings for<br />

<strong>the</strong>m, membrane counter-flashings, and details showing <strong>the</strong> following:<br />

1. How gaps in <strong>the</strong> construction will be bridged, including inside and outside<br />

corners,<br />

2. How materials that cover <strong>the</strong> air and vapor barrier are stripped-in to maintain airtight<br />

condition.<br />

3. How miscellaneous penetrations such as conduits, pipes, electric boxes,<br />

mechanical fasteners, and similar items are sealed.<br />

4. Include VOC content <strong>of</strong> each material, and applicable legal limit in <strong>the</strong><br />

jurisdiction <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> project.<br />

5. Include statement that materials are compatible with adjacent construction.<br />

6. Include recommended values for field adhesion test on each substrate.<br />

C. Samples: Submit samples, 3 by 4 inch minimum size <strong>of</strong> each material required.<br />

D. Quality Assurance Program:<br />

1. Submit evidence <strong>of</strong> installer current accreditation and certification under <strong>the</strong> Air<br />

Barrier Association <strong>of</strong> America’s (ABAA) Quality Assurance Program. Submit<br />

certification number <strong>of</strong> installers.<br />

2. The air barrier system shall be installed according to <strong>the</strong> methods prescribed by<br />

<strong>the</strong> Air Barrier Association <strong>of</strong> America and <strong>the</strong> manufacturer’s current<br />

specification and installation guidelines.<br />

E. Field Test Results <strong>of</strong> Mock-Up: Submit test results <strong>of</strong> air leakage test and water leakage<br />

test <strong>of</strong> mock-up in accordance with specified standards, including retesting if initial<br />

results are not satisfactory.<br />
