Heather Dicharia
Congratulations to Heather Dicharia, Hersey's Student of the Month
for January! Nominated by American Literature teacher Walter
Brownley and US History teacher Stephen Kuehn, Heather is
applauded for her positive attitude, exceptional work ethic, and
motivation to learn. Teachers report Heather’s academic success can
be attributed to her excellent focus, initiative to improve, as well as
her commitment to learning and determination. She is a consistent
positive contributor to the learning environment. Heather plans to
pursue a career in cosmetology upon high school graduation.
Although the Hersey Debate Team had not won a team trophy since October, they picked an opportune
Association’s State Championships and returned with the third place trophy.
Senior Moriah Mulroe led the team by scoring the second highest individual in the entire tournament.
Sophomores Melanie Cohodes, Mike Feltes, and Ben Goldberg gave their best performances of the
Melanie Cohodes was also named to the All-State Team by gaining a record number of nominations in the
course of the entire season.
Vivek Shah and Sophomore Mike Miller both won two individual honors,
scoring with 1st place speaker and presiding awards.
