Heather Dicharia<br />
Congratulations to Heather Dicharia, <strong>Hersey</strong>'s Student of the Month<br />
for January! Nominated by American Literature teacher Walter<br />
Brownley and US History teacher Stephen Kuehn, Heather is<br />
applauded for her positive attitude, exceptional work ethic, and<br />
motivation to learn. Teachers report Heather’s academic success can<br />
be attributed to her excellent focus, initiative to improve, as well as<br />
her commitment to learning and determination. She is a consistent<br />
positive contributor to the learning environment. Heather plans to<br />
pursue a career in cosmetology upon high school graduation.<br />

Although the <strong>Hersey</strong> Debate Team had not won a team trophy since October, they picked an opportune<br />
<br />
Association’s State Championships and returned with the third place trophy.<br />
Senior Moriah Mulroe led the team by scoring the second highest individual in the entire tournament.<br />
Sophomores Melanie Cohodes, Mike Feltes, and Ben Goldberg gave their best performances of the<br />
<br />
Melanie Cohodes was also named to the All-State Team by gaining a record number of nominations in the<br />
course of the entire season.<br />

Vivek Shah and Sophomore Mike Miller both won two individual honors,<br />
scoring with 1st place speaker and presiding awards.<br />
