Designed to transport stereo audio signals up
to 2,000 feet (610 meters) on a single Cat5/5e/6
cable, the CYAN Media Link kit consists of a transmitter
and receiver. No power is required for this
passive device.
Specifications:
• Max cable distance: 2,000 feet
(610 meters)
• Size: 1.0"H x 2.6"W x 3.0"D
(2.54cm x 6.60cm x 7.62cm)
Extend HDMI video and audio up to 150 feet over
Cat6 using the CYAN HDMI Media Link kit. Consisting
of a transmitter, receiver and two power
supplies (one for each end), CYAN HDMI delivers
1080i/720p signals to 150 feet or 1080p/UXGA
signals to 100 feet over a pair of UTP cables. Using
an appropriate adapter cable, CYAN HDMI can
also extend DVI video signals.
Specifications:
• Max cable distance: 150 feet (50 meters)
• Resolutions: all resolutions including:
NTSC/480p/720p/1080i/1080p
• Power: 9 VDC / 300mA
• Size: 1.0"H x 2.6"W x 3.0"D
(2.54cm x 6.60cm x 7.62cm)
CYAN FAQ
Why use UTP cable for Audio Video extension
Cat5/6 is very inexpensive (pennies a foot), easy to terminate, carries a
small footprint and can easily be snaked through conduit or tight areas.
Utilizing UTP cable as an AV delivery option with CYAN products results in no
degradation of signal quality, as opposed to using long and costly VGA,
coax or component cables, which will degrade signal quality.
Is UTP AV distribution the same as video over IP
No! CYAN products, while they utilize UTP cable, are designed to operate
outside an existing network infrastructure. This approach allows users to
avoid purchasing costly switches and/or routers. Most video over IP approaches
also require users to down convert high-resolution video so it can
be effectively transmitted over a network, thus affecting video quality.
What type of UTP cables can be used with CYAN
CYAN can be used with unshielded Cat5e or Cat6e. Screened twisted pair
(SCTP) cable (and shielded connectors) are recommended for use with
CYAN HDMI on long distance runs and/or in noisy environments.
Why should I use CYAN products instead of passive (non-powered) video
baluns
CYAN products utilize patent-pending technology that deliver at least ten
times the bandwidth (enabling higher resolutions) versus passive devices,
while also providing much faster video rise times. Video rise time relates
directly to video image clarity, as it is the measure of time needed for
the system to transition from black to white and white to black. Poor rise
times cause a form of video image distortion called aperture distortion, an
increase of which results in a horizontally smeared image.
How should the UTP cable be terminated
CYAN products require the T568B pinning specification.
Designed to transport high-resolution YUV/Component
video up to 328 feet (100 meters) on a
single Cat5/5e/6 cable, the CYAN Media Link
kit consists of a transmitter, receiver and a single
power supply (only the transmit end requires
power). Remotely locate a DVD player/videogame
console/cable tv box or other component
video device.
Specifications:
• Max cable distance: 328 feet (100 meters)
• Resolutions: all resolutions including:
NTSC/480p/720p/1080i/1080p
• Power: 9 VDC / 300mA
• Size: 1.0"H x 2.6"W x 3.0"D
(2.54cm x 6.60cm x 7.62cm)
Does CYAN require power
CYAN RGBHV and CYAN YUV are powered only on the transmitter end,
passing power to the receiver via the UTP cable. CYAN Stereo Audio is a
passive device that does not require power on either end. CYAN HDMI
requires power at both ends.
What is included in CYAN AV kits
CYAN kits come with a transmitter, receiver and power supply(s) (if necessary).
All that needs to be added is TP cable and the necessary connecting
cables.
As we incorporate design improvements, specifications and prices may change without notice.
