and they’re there much of the day, if not all day.
The newer bridges will be shallower
structures. By that I mean they won’t be as deep, and
they will be high. So, we won’t have any severe
impacts. We will have an increased area of moderate
impacts, four to five hours a day of areas that may be
shaded.
We’ll talk about the screening process.
This is kind of a matrix that we’ve developed to help
us. The categories, the rows, indicate all the
criteria that we’re looking at. The columns along the
top are the alternatives, both for the river crossing,
or the bridge types, and alignments for the highways.
And we’re busy filling that in with all our
information to come up with our preferred alternative.
I-95, again, there are two feasible
alternatives for widening the highway to provide that
four lanes in each direction from the current three.
Do we widen to the inside, to the median -- as I said,
that’s where we’re sort of coming down -- or we’ve
also looked very closely at widening to the outside.
We can do different things. We can do one to the
inside -- we can do northbound inside, southbound
outside, or vice versa. I mean there’s all kinds of
