A couple of items I just wanted to
mention. We’ve received a number of letters with good
understanding that -- or great concern that there may
be a number of right of way takings, temporary
easements, acquisitions required as part of this
project. Parsons Brinckerhoff will be developing the
preliminary design as you see before us here.
Although we’ve not identified any areas
of permanent acquisitions, there may be some areas of
temporary easements that will be required for the
duration of construction. MassDOT will be the
responsible party for acquiring those rights in
lands, private or public. And, Mr. Sheehan, Michael
Sheehan, will be describing for us how MassDOT goes
about those efforts in acquiring the rights.
MICHAEL SHEEHAN: Good evening. My
name is Michael Sheehan and I represent the Right of
Way Bureau of the Massachusetts Department of
Transportation - Highway Division.
The Right of Way Bureau is responsible
for acquiring all of the necessary rights in private
and public lands for the design, construction, and
implementation of this project.
