West Virginia National Guard Annual Report 2008
The Site Visit Team conducted an indepth
review of WVARNG business practices,
including senior leadership governance and
social responsibility practices; strategic planning
development and deployment; customer
knowledge, relationships and satisfaction;
performance measurement, analysis and
knowledge; workforce engagement and
environment; process management design
and improvement; and outcome results of the
services provided to customers. Soldiers and
civilian employees demonstrated their core
competencies in the vital areas of Readiness and
Assigned Personnel Strength as leaders among
54 states and territories.
The ACOE Program has proven to be an
excellent commander’s self-assessment tool that
helps WVARNG leaders and managers identify
innovation and excellence as they take advantage
of the entrepreneurial genius of the people within
the organization to continually develop better
ways of doing business.
“We firmly believe that there is a strong relationship between
our use of the criteria and the business results that we continue
to achieve. It is no coincidence that since adopting ACOE we
have enjoyed a decade of unprecedented organizational success.”
