6.4.3 Terminal Development Plan
6.4.3.1 EIA 2012 to 2020 (9 MAP)
There are three distinct phases for beyond the nine
million annual passenger targets of 2012 (Exhibits
6.22 through 6.24) based on 9 MAP, 12 MAP and 16
MAP benchmarks.
Exhibit 6.22
Key drivers for expansion development include the
following:
• y Incremental phased development
• y The accommodation for individual sector
growth (domestic, transborder and
international)
• y Aircraft stand requirements per sector
When expanding an airport into the future it
is important to do so with minimal disruption
to existing operational areas during each
development stage. EIA will make every effort to
maintain a balanced terminal capacity, keep an
adequate number of aircraft parking positions,
sufficient apron space and satisfactory runway
provisions during development construction.
