You often see crêpes listed as a local speciality on menus, particularly in the western part of the country. HARTING supports Krampouz, a manufacturer located in Pluguffan at the extreme western edge of Brittany which makes products that give people all over the world the opportunity to enjoy the Frenchs’ favorite snack wherever they want. Krampouz is a specialist producer which has been making crêpe griddles and waffle irons since 1949. The company’s portfolio includes a family range and a professional range. have to be significantly more reliable. The professionals who make crêpes and waffles need dependable, highavailability equipment which enables them to make the most of their culinary talents under any conditions. Crêpes and waffles may “only” be snacks, but at Krampouz quality is a matter of pride. The Versatile Crêpe Machine The machines are available in a number of different models which are designed for different situations and which offer a choice of features. Some crêpe makers and waffle irons are permanently installed in restaurants, whereas others are set up temporarily at markets and outdoor events. The machines have to be portable. They must be easy to set up and remove and be designed to keep working reliably in inclement weather conditions. There is always the risk of twisting, and the cable glands can wear out quickly. The connectors and cable glands which were previously used on Krampouz equipment frequently had to be replaced. Application: mobile and everywhere Krampouz is having much better success using Han® Q 5/0 connectors with Quick Lock termination technology on the power cables. The migration to industrial connectors has helped Krampouz to cut costs and make the devices more convenient to use, which significantly increases customer satisfaction. The HARTING solution makes the product more user-friendly and easier to install. The connectors are more rugged and longer lasting. No tools are needed to attach and remove Han® Q 5/0 Quick Lock connectors, and this is a feature that matches the Krampouz customer profile. The connectors are designed to carry high current, which is another advantage of this solution. Following the success of this one-off application, Krampouz launched an engineering and cost-effectiveness analysis. The company finally decided to include the new solution in the catalogue for Q1 2009. Krampouz designed the Han® Q 5/0 Quick Lock into a new machine which has features that are tailored to meet the needs of a particular customer.
