Expanding our consulting business
In 2008, Flughafen München GmbH succeeded
in further expanding its international consulting
business, growing revenue from its Operational
Readiness and Airport Transfer (ORAT) consulting
program (based on expertise accumulated during
the successful commissioning of Munich Airport
and Terminal 2) by 36 percent, year on year.
We were involved in opening Singapore’s new
Terminal 3, the new airport in Hyderabad, India,
and, in a certain areas, London Heathrow’s Ter -
minal 5 – all projects that have now been completed.
We’ve since been hired to consult on the
commissioning of new passenger terminals in
Abu Dhabi, Barcelona, New Delhi, Moscow
Sheremetyevo, and Vienna.
In the light of growing demand for our professional
expertise at the international level, we’re planning
to step up our consulting activities and to extend
our offering of services to encompass other sectors.
We took an initial step in this direction in 2008 by
opening an FMG branch office in Abu Dhabi.
MediCare: Healthcare services at Munich Airport
FMG subsidiary MediCare Flughafen München Medi -
zinisches Zentrum GmbH is responsible for providing
healthcare services to air travelers, visitors, and
employees at Munich Airport. The subsidiary also
runs AirportClinic M under license as a private medical
treatment facility as defined in German trade and
industry statutes.
MediCare is co-owned by Flughafen München GmbH
with 51 percent and by MAHM GmbH, a company
operated by a group of physicians, some of whom
are based at Munich Airport, with 49 percent. Medi-
Care currently has a workforce of 70 employees and
in 2008 reported sales of €5.3 million.
