College of Business and Management Patrick Bauer is a Senior Professor of Accounting in the College of Business and Management, a CPA, and brings to his classes a variety of real world experiences. He worked in auditing and corporate accounting before becoming a professor at DeVry in March 1989. In recent years he has taught numerous sections of the accounting courses. Patrick earned both his Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in accounting at UMKC. He is a past winner of the Missouri Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching and in October 2009 was named the Instructor of the Year for business professors by the Missouri Association of Private Career Colleges and Schools (MAPCCS). Tim Hilboldt graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Benedictine College and followed several paths before he landed in education. He started working for a construction company, moved to manufacturing, then to distribution, and finally to education. Professor Hilboldt received his MBA from Keller School of Management and is a Senior Professor in the College of Business and Management teaching a myriad of business courses. Kent Wilson spent 27 years in a large manufacturing company before coming to DeVry in 1992. During that time he was a manager of various functions related to production planning, purchasing, and material management. Professor Wilson teaches the introduction to business course, a management course, as well an occasional operations management course. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Central Missouri State University and is completing his MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management. College of Engineering and Information Sciences Saleh Bleha is a Senior Professor at DeVry, teaching in the College of Engineering and Information Sciences. Previously, Saleh taught for the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg and the University of Missouri in both Columbia and Kansas City. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and American Society of Engineering Education. Saleh has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of El-Fateh, a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. 14

Mercurvus (Merc) Boyd is an Electronics Technology Professor in the College of Engineering and Information Sciences and has been with DeVry since 1979. Previously working as a field service engineer, his emphasis is in industrial controls, sensors, applied physics, circuit fundamentals and applications. Merc received his Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology from DeVry University and a Master’s degree in Industrial Technology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He actively participates as a mentor for the 1st Robotics Competition. Karl Crum is a Senior Professor teaching courses primarily in the Network and Communications Management program, such as Project Management, Programming/ Scripting and Information Security. He has taught at DeVry for over 22 years. In a ten-year business career he worked for AT&T/Southwestern Bell as a technical support specialist and project manager; Electronic Data Systems (EDS) as a Regional Account Manager; and, with a small local firm as a business and communications consultant. He has also served in US Army Military Intelligence as an Interrogator with a language specialty of Chinese-Mandarin. Karl has a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Kansas and a Master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Kansas State University. Robert Diffenderfer is a Senior Professor teaching Electronics Engineering Technology at DeVry University-Kansas City campus for over 17 years. Prior to joining DeVry, Robert was with the Boeing Company in Seattle, WA designing electronics for military and commercial aerospace products. The designs consisted of analog/digital circuits for microprocessor based control systems. His experience has also included designing products at a hybrid technology manufacturing company. Robert received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from John Brown University, AR, and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Rick Henderson is a Senior Professor in the College of Engineering and Information Sciences. He teaches courses in computer programming languages, digital signal processing and microcontroller hardware and software design. He has been teaching at DeVry since November, 1991. Rick worked as a design engineer in the Kansas City area prior to coming to DeVry and is listed as an inventor on three separate patents in the area of embedded systems designs. He has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kansas and a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia. 15
