Mary Talkington is a Networking and Communications Management Professor in the College
of Engineering and Information Sciences. She has been teaching at DeVry since October 1999.
Professor Talkington has worked in the Networking field since 1988, holding such positions as
Telecommunications Manager at Lathrop & Gage, LLC; Network Administrator at
McCormick Distilling; Network Specialist at Hallmark Cards; and, Network and
Telecommunication Specialist for the Department of Defense. She has earned a Bachelor’s
degree in Management and Information Systems from Park University and a Master’s degree
in Education from Webster University. Professor Talkington is a 2005 PRIDE award winner.
College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
Kate Brewington is a Senior Professor in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences teaching
both speech and drama courses. She has been a teacher for over 30 years and at DeVry
University for the last 23 years. Before starting her career at DeVry, she was a graduate
teaching assistant at Pittsburg State University and taught at Missouri Southern State College
as well as Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree
in Education with a minor in Speech Communication & Theatre in 1979 and her Master’s
degree in Speech Communication & Theatre in 1982 from Pittsburg State University. Kate is a
2008 Pride Award Winner.
Rob Curry is a Professor in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and teaches
mathematics, statistics, and economics. Rob has been teaching for over 20 years and came to
DeVry in November 1989. He earned a Bachelor’s degrees in construction science and in
business administration at Kansas State University. His Master of Business Administration in
Quantitative Analysis was earned at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Gary Fuchs is a Senior Professor in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He teaches
courses in history, ethics, and humanities. He has been teaching over 30 years with the last 23
years at DeVry. He earned both his Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree at Central Missouri
State University. Gary is a Pride award winner for 2009.
