College of Engineering and Information Sciences, cont. Sally Baker is a Professor in the College of Business and Management and the College of Engineering and Information Sciences. She has been teaching at DeVry since February 1996. Previously, she spent 10 years building her tax and accounting practice in Westport. Sally has won numerous awards including the Ron Taylor award and she was a 2008 Pride award winner. Sally earned her Master’s degree at University of Missouri-Kansas City. Carl Hill is an Assistant Professor with DeVry University in the College of Engineering and Information Sciences where he teaches electronics technology. Previously, he taught PC repair and basic digital electronics at TAD Technical Institute in Kansas City and worked in the electronics industry for 20 years. Carl has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from DeVry University and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Central Missouri University. Ellen Jones is an Associate Professor with DeVry University in the College of Engineering and Information Sciences. For the last 12 years, she has brought her business world experience into the classroom, teaching CIS courses in logic & design, COBOL, C#, computer applications and systems analysis from the structured and object-oriented perspectives. Her experience in the telecommunication industry as a Systems/Programmer Analyst has been a great asset to her students. Ellen has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from DeVry and a Master’s degree in Teaching from Webster University in 2002. Ellen is both a Ron Taylor Award and PRIDE recipient for 2009. Larry Knupp is a networking and data communication Professor in the College of Engineering and Information Sciences. He began teaching at DeVry in 1997 after a career of over twenty years in Information Technology. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Kansas and a Master’s degree in Information Sciences from Keller Graduate School of Management. He was a winner of the Missouri Governor's Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2004. Robert Myers is a Professor with DeVry University in the College of Engineering and Information Sciences, teaching programming courses such as C/C++, Java, C#, JSP, HTML, Visual Basic and programming theory. Before joining DeVry, he worked as an Electrical Engineer, a Technical Programmer, a Business Programmer, a Technical Architect, and as a Webmaster. Robert is a graduate from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Master’s degree in Engineering Management. 16
College of Engineering and Information Sciences, cont. Eileen Nance has been a Professor at DeVry since 1999, teaching in the network communications program. She began her career in private accounting and quickly moved to public accounting and consulting. She began teaching part time at a local community college in 1986. She left the consulting firm to work as a COBOL programmer at an automotive company in downtown Kansas City and quickly volunteered to set up their first peer to peer network. Eventually she began setting up and supporting the client server networks used by the company. While working downtown she also set up a help desk, developed and delivered all in house computer related training. She eventually became a project manager focusing on IT related projects. Eileen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from William Jewell University and a Master of Arts in Education from Webster University. John Pollock is an engineering, mathematics and project management Professor in the College of Business and Management and the College of Engineering and Information Sciences. He has been teaching at DeVry University since February 2001. Previously, he spent 24 years in industry. John earned his Bachelor’s degree from the Missouri Institute of Technology and his Master’s degree at Keller Graduate School of Management. Lynn Risley is a Professor in the College of Engineering and Information Sciences at DeVry University. Prior to joining DeVry, he was a practicing computer professional in the capacities of Systems/Network Architect, Network Manager, and Director of Telecommunications. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications Management from DeVry University and a Master’s degree in Project Management from Keller Graduate School of Management. Cecil Stuerke has been teaching Electrical Engineering Technology core curriculum courses at DeVry since 1996. Previously, he had been in the United States Air Force for twenty years. His assignments were in research and development facilities, where he worked on satellite power systems, particle beam weapons and military communication systems. He received two Bachelor of Science degrees from Kansas University in Electrical Engineering (Power) and Engineering Physics. As well as a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH. Professor Stuerke is now working on his PhD at UMKC. 17
