with turned burrwood body fitted with a large steel band<br />

around the base incorporating a loop for suspension at<br />

each end, and a moulded nozzle with cut-off at the top (the<br />

spring and two screws missing)<br />

16TH CENTURY<br />

the inner surface engraved with bold scrolls of foliage, the<br />

outer face carved with the Three Graces in low relief<br />

against a finely hatched ground, steel mounts comprising<br />

pierced belt hook, four loops for suspension, and nozzle<br />

(spring cut-off missing, basal caps restored); and an 18th<br />

century steel bullet mould for a ball of approximately 28<br />

bore<br />
