the first with U-shaped heel bands, pierced slotted<br />

terminals for attaching straps, moulded necks extending to<br />

a pair of long pierced rectangular panels, large multi-spiked<br />

rowels fitted with a pair of coins for washers; the second<br />

similar, the heel bands applied with contrasting patterns of<br />

silver chevron<br />

the first with U-shaped heel bands with slotted terminals,<br />

short moulded neck extending to a bar of slightly curved<br />

solid panels, decorated over its entire surface with patterns<br />

of silver including chevron on the upper and lower<br />

surfaces, each fitted with multi-spiked rowel and retaining<br />

its original silver-mounted leather straps; the second pair<br />

formed entirely of white metal, the heel band chiselled with<br />

scrollwork and each with multi-spiked rowel<br />

TWO PAIRS OF SOUTH AMERICAN SPURS, SECOND<br />

HALF OF THE 19TH CENTURY<br />

the first of steel with shaped heel bands with pierced<br />

slotted terminals for attaching straps, pierced shaped necks<br />

fitted with a large white metal foliate washer, and rowel of<br />

eight spikes; the second formed entirely of white metal<br />

with arched heel bands decorated with beadwork and<br />

chiselled ornament and each with multi-spiked rowel.<br />

THREE PAIRS OF SPURS, 19TH CENTURY, SPANISH AND<br />

SOUTH AMERICAN<br />

the first pair of russet iron with U-shaped heel bands,<br />

slightly recurved swelling necks and a rowel of twelve<br />

points; the second pair probably South American, with<br />

lightly engraved heel bands and necks, the latter fitted with<br />

a rowel of ten spikes and a pair of jingle bells; and another<br />

pair of spurs, probably South American, 19th Century<br />
