Service description: Provider of professional Allied Health Services to frail aged and<br />
younger disabled people and their carers. Services aim to maintain optimum levels of<br />
independence and well being by delivering physiotherapy, occupational therapy,<br />
podiatry and dietetic services.<br />

Service description: The service provides a high quality, complete breast cancer<br />
screening and assessment service, free-of-charge to eligible women. We offer: *<br />
Participation in the only nationally-accredited breast screening and assessment<br />
program in the Wide Bay region, including a mailed invitation for rescreening every<br />
two years * Free breast cancer screening for eligible women, including any follow-up<br />
tests that may be required * Referral for treatment if breast cancer is detected *<br />
Counselling service with our trained nurse-counsellor * Information resources about<br />
breast cancer and breast screening, including presentations for community groups and<br />
workplaces * TTY and interpreter services available for women with special needs *<br />
Appointments available for age-eligible women who have a disability. Conveniently<br />
located at <strong>Bundaberg</strong> Hospital (next to the Red Cross Blood Service, access via Queens<br />
Park Road), with a satellite service available at Hervey Bay Hospital. A mobile service<br />
visits Maryborough every year and rural locations every two years. Age Eligibility:<br />
Women aged 50-69 years are especially encouraged to attend every two years as the<br />
biggest risk factor for breast cancer is age. Women aged 40 to 49 years and 70 years<br />
and older can also attend if they choose. A doctor's referral is not required<br />
