BIG BOTTLES FROM BEAULIEU
Direct From Their Cellar in Napa Valley
Cabernet Sauvignon
Clone 6 Signet Collection
1996 Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 6.............................6.0 liter 899.99
1996 Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 6.............................3.0 liter 449.99
“Delicious elegant, rich, vibrant and complex, with deep, sharply focused, ripe
plum, black cherry, blackberry, spice and light cedary oak shadings. Best from
2001 through 2007. 300 cases made. “ Wine Spectator, rated 94/100
1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 6.............................3.0 liter 549.99
“Ripe, rich, smooth and complex, with deeply concentrated currant, black cherry,
herb, spice and vanilla, and a wonderful aftertaste that keeps pumping out the flavors.
The tannins, while firm, are physiologically ripe and supple for a wine this
young. Tempting now, better in 2000. The first bottling of the Clone 6, which was
previously a component of the Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. 250 cases
made.” Wine Spectator, rated 93/100
“This limited bottling from BV’s new Signet Collection series of wines (all expensive
and made in small quantities) is an immensely impressive offering. The color
is a saturated dark ruby/purple. The wine, from an old clone of Cabernet
Sauvignon, is a rich, full-bodied, powerful yet harmonious Cabernet with gobs of
black currant fruit, a nice touch of oak, and outstanding ripeness and purity. It is
also long in the mouth, with a youthful, unevolved personality. This should prove
to be an impressive, long-lived Cabernet Sauvignon. Anticipated maturity: 2001-
2015.” Robert Parker, rated 91/100
Private Reserve
1996 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve ..............6.0 liter 799.99
1996 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve ..............3.0 liter 399.99
“Ripe, round and smooth, with a core of coffee, currant, sage cedar and spice.
Gains nuance and complexity on the finish, where the tannins are firm and integrated.
Wonderful texture and polish. Drink now through 2008/ 13,000 cases
made.” Wine Spectator, rated 92/100
1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve ..............3.0 liter 449.99
“Really fruity, with an abundance of raspberry, violet and berry character. Fullbodied,
with a velvety tannin structure and a long berry and toasted oak aftertaste.
The oak is a bit dominant, so give it time to mellow.—Georges de Latour Private
Reserve vertical. Best after 2004. 12,000 cases made.” Wine Spectator, rated
93/100
1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve .................3.0 liter 499.99
“One of the most prestigious wines in California, the 1994 version shows and
impressive core of spicy currant and mineral-laced Cabernet flavors emerging from
chewy tannins, picking up cedary oak, coffee and sage notes. Most enjoyable if cellared
a bit. Best from 1999 through 2004. 13,500 cases made.” Wine Spectator,
rated 93/100
“This is one of the finest efforts from Beaulieu in some time. Not since the mideighties
has BV made a Private Reserve Cabernet with such richness and potential.
The wine boasts a dark ruby/purple color, an attractive nose of sweet, toasty new
oak, and ripe red and black fruits. In the mouth, there is a layered texture, fullbodied
richness, excellent purity, and sweet tannin in the long finish. This wine
can be drunk now as well as over the next 15-20 years. Bravo to BV!” Robert
Parker, rated 91/100
1987 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve .................6.0 liter 999.99
1987 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve .................3.0 liter 499.99
“Generous, soft and big, with a dark ruby color and mint, plum and smoke character.
Full-bodied and very velvety, with lots of ripe berry and chocolate flavors
and a long, long finish. Best after 2002. 14,200 cases made.” Wine Spectator, rated
Tapestry
1997 Tapestry .............................................................6.0 liter 549.99
“Big, bold, rich and polished, this is an immense and deeply concentrated
Cabernet blend laden with ripe plum, currant, anise, green olive and cedar notes
and finishing with gripping tannins. Best from 2002 through 2012. 27,000 cases
made.” Wine Spectator, rated 94/100
1996 Tapestry .............................................................6.0 liter 499.99
1996 Tapestry .............................................................3.0 liter 249.99
“Tight in structure while plush in texture, offering rich plum, dark chocolate, cinnamon,
spice and earth flavors that linger deliciously on the long, complex finish—this
is one seductive California red. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot,
Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2005. 14,500 cases made.”
