RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY
“Highly Recommended”
“…intense, spicy, buttery…big, rich, fleshy…” California
Grapevine
“Rated 93/100”
“A nice combination of richness and suggestions of juicy fruit
let this wine start off enticingly in the nose, and its rounded,
fleshy, full-bodied palatal impressions keep it on track. It’s flavors
blend ripe appley fruit and creamy, slightly toasty oak
and lead to a bit of firmness inthe otherwise long, somewhat
butterscotchy finish.” Connoisseur’s Guide to California Wine
Pinot Noir
RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY
“Very Highly Recommended”
“Medium ruby color; attractive, intense, ripe red cherry and
strawberry fruit aroma with distinctive varietal character and
showing hints of clove and spice; medium-full body; forward,
fairly rich, plush, spicy, cedary, toasty, sweet cherry fruit flavors;
well balanced; medium-full tannin; slightly rough on the finish;
lingering aftertaste. very enjoyable to drink now though should
develop complexity with several more years of bottle aging.”
“Three Birds,” is another small production gem and their first GMS (Grenache,
Mourvedre, Syrah). The wine shows bright strawberry, pomegranate, and spice
aromas while keeping up the ripe fruit and tremendous concentration and depth
that we have come to expect from Carlisle wines. Another brilliant wine that
will surely not be around for long. Only 275 cases produced.
