GENERAL<br />
OPERATION<br />
The <strong>12</strong>-<strong>06</strong>-<strong>0000</strong> is a simple <strong>POCSAG</strong> message generator integrated<br />
into a serial lead suitable for interface to a SALCOM 11-72 NRZ<br />
transmitter or similar.<br />
<strong>Serial</strong> communication with the computer is 9600, N, 8, 1 and the baud<br />
rate and level of the message sent to the transmitter is determined by<br />
the syntax of the serial message.<br />

Extended SALCOM protocol: The <strong>12</strong>-<strong>06</strong> also supports extended <strong>Salcom</strong><br />
Protocol directly into the serial port.<br />
Message format<br />
[Message type][RIC][Level][Message]<br />
The <strong>12</strong>-<strong>06</strong> will handle up to 200 characters of message. A PET<br />
password is not needed.<br />
The red light on the case lights on PTT.<br />
INSTALLATION<br />
No installation is required, simply plug the D9 socket of the <strong>12</strong>-<strong>06</strong> to a<br />
serial port on the computer and the D15 plug to a SALCOM 11-72 NRZ<br />
transmitter or similar.<br />
The <strong>12</strong>-<strong>06</strong> is powered from the SALCOM transmitter.<br />

Level: The level / baud rate of the message as detailed below:<br />
