A Message from the Superintendent<br />

The Caliber Awards recognizes the District’s outstanding employee,<br />
principal, assistant principal and teacher of the year. We are honored<br />
to be able to recognize these individuals, but it is important that we<br />
also take a moment to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the<br />
more than 30,000 employees in the District.<br />
As we unveil the District’s Strategic Plan and roll out new initiatives<br />
designed to improve the teaching and learning for all students,<br />
everyone has a role to play. I know as I move around talking and<br />
listening to staff, parents and community members that there is a<br />
renewed determination to make a difference. So it is only fi tting that<br />
we emphasize the importance of recognizing how much the entire staff<br />
does on a daily basis to keep our students safe and to ensure that every<br />
student is prepared to graduate and embark on a promising future.<br />
Tonight is a special night. The individuals being recognized have been<br />
selected by their peers, community and students to represent all of us.<br />
Please join me in saluting them.<br />
