Disposal and Decontamination of
Biohazardous Waste
In preparation for moving, observe the following
guidelines:
• Label ALL biohazardous waste red bags and
sharps container
• Dispose of all biohazardous waste red bags and
sharps containers at approved accumulation sites
• EHS will not pick-up biohazardous waste except
in unusual situations
• Chemically disinfect biohazardous waste
• Autoclave liquid biohazardous waste and dispose
of down the drain
