89 composite sample units (Table 3) were subjected to analysis us<strong>in</strong>g the General L<strong>in</strong>ear<br />

Model (GLM) procedure of SPSS version 12. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA)<br />

was used for variables of range <strong>condition</strong>. Correlation analysis was used to test if there<br />

were relationships between rangel<strong>and</strong> degradation, biomass production <strong>and</strong> vegetation<br />

variables.<br />
