IBM Softcopy Reader
Allows you to view and search BookManager files and
organize BookManager files and bookshelves.
IBM Softcopy Librarian
Allows you to manage BookManager files in a repository
and download BookManager files from the Internet.
Softcopy Receiver Tool
Allows you to transfer BookManager files from the CD-ROM or
DVD to the workstation or host.
2.4.2 Tape Formats for Machine Readable Material
The actual number of physical tapes you receive depends on the tape density and the install format of the
Licensed Program Products ordered.
The layout of the z/VM System is specified in the z/VM Guide for Automated Installation and Service.
For more information on the format of a stacked VMSES/E tape for Licensed Products, please refer to
Appendix Appendix E, “Licensed Products Tapemaps” on page 303.
2.4.3 DASD Storage Requirements
Refer to z/VM Guide for Automated Installation and Service for the DASD storage requirements.
It is important to have page, spool, and temp space defined. Paging space, spooling space, and
temporary minidisk space (PAGE, TEMP, and TDSK, respectively) are installation dependent. The
amount of page space required depends on the number and size of logged-on virtual machines, processor
size and workload. The amount of space needed for spooling and temporary minidisk requests will be
dependent upon user demand and application requirements.

2.4.4 Install the z/VM System
Install the z/VM System prior to installing the Licensed Products.
1. Refer to the appropriate z/VM Installation and Service Summary which comes with the z/VM Guide for
Automated Installation and Service. This provides a summary of the steps required to install the z/VM
system and will serve as your guide.
