KKBE <strong>Wedd<strong>in</strong>g</strong> <strong>Related</strong> <strong>Fees</strong> & <strong>Policies</strong><br />

<strong>for</strong> <strong>Members</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Good</strong> St<strong>and</strong><strong>in</strong>g<br />

Sanctuary & Rabbi<br />

The fee <strong>for</strong> the use of the Sanctuary is $850 <strong>for</strong> <strong>Members</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Good</strong> St<strong>and</strong><strong>in</strong>g. This <strong>in</strong>cludes preceremony<br />

meet<strong>in</strong>gs with the Rabbi be<strong>for</strong>e the ceremony, KKBE’s <strong>Wedd<strong>in</strong>g</strong> Director, use of our<br />

Chuppah, use of the Library <strong>for</strong> the bridal party, use of the Board Room <strong>for</strong> sign<strong>in</strong>g the Ketubah,<br />

use of the sanctuary <strong>for</strong> rehearsal, white w<strong>in</strong>e <strong>for</strong> the ceremony <strong>and</strong> a glass to break.<br />

Arrangements to secure the Rabbi’s services must be made directly with the Rabbi (723-1090;<br />

rabbia@kkbe.org).<br />

Chuppah<br />

KKBE’s Chuppah fits our Bimah. It is constructed of brass poles secured <strong>in</strong>to fixed plates on the<br />

bimah. We have a lace canopy available. The frame measures 65” x 65” <strong>and</strong> is 85” high.<br />

Rehearsal<br />

There are many events scheduled at KKBE so plann<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> early notifications are essential <strong>for</strong> us<br />

to give bridal couples the service they deserve. Rehearsals will be held at a mutually convenient<br />

time. Please contact the Temple office at least 30 days be<strong>for</strong>e the ceremony to schedule the<br />

rehearsal.<br />

KKBE’s <strong>Wedd<strong>in</strong>g</strong> Director<br />

We require the use of a KKBE <strong>Wedd<strong>in</strong>g</strong> Director <strong>for</strong> your ceremony to make sure your day is<br />

worry-free. She will direct the rehearsal, prepare the sanctuary <strong>for</strong> your special day, make sure<br />

your Ketubah is ready <strong>and</strong> coord<strong>in</strong>ate all the mov<strong>in</strong>g parts of your wedd<strong>in</strong>g – from your vendors<br />

to your wedd<strong>in</strong>g party. She provides your florist/decorator with timely access, assists the<br />

wedd<strong>in</strong>g party <strong>in</strong> mov<strong>in</strong>g to their places <strong>for</strong> the ceremony <strong>and</strong> ensures the event goes smoothly.<br />

Security<br />

In addition to our <strong>Wedd<strong>in</strong>g</strong> <strong>Fees</strong>, if your wedd<strong>in</strong>g will have 100 guests or more, KKBE requires<br />

the use of one Police officer <strong>for</strong> security. KKBE will make all arrangements. A fee of $125 is paid<br />

directly to KKBE.<br />

Music<br />

KKBE’s h<strong>and</strong>some organ was <strong>in</strong>stalled <strong>in</strong> the sanctuary late <strong>in</strong> the n<strong>in</strong>eteenth century. If you<br />

wish to use our organ <strong>for</strong> music dur<strong>in</strong>g your ceremony, you must use our approved organist,<br />

Julia Harlow. We will provide <strong>in</strong><strong>for</strong>mation on how to make arrangements with Julia should you<br />

wish to engage her services. Her fee is $200.<br />

Vendor Requirements<br />

All vendors (florists, decorators, musicians, etc.) must provide a copy of their Certificate of<br />

Liability Insurance to KKBE at least 30 days prior to the ceremony. Email them to<br />

office@kkbe.org or fax them to 843-723-0537.<br />

Floral & Decorations<br />

Because of the historic nature of the property, we have some restrictions on decorations <strong>and</strong><br />

floral <strong>in</strong>stallations. Your florist should coord<strong>in</strong>ate with the Temple staff to determ<strong>in</strong>e if the<br />

proposed designs may be <strong>in</strong>stalled. Your florist will be allowed access to the build<strong>in</strong>g 3 hours<br />

prior to the ceremony to <strong>in</strong>stall all decorations.<br />

Ketubah <strong>and</strong> Kippot<br />

We provide our st<strong>and</strong>ard Ketubah <strong>for</strong> the ceremony. Should you wish to explore a wide array of<br />

artistic Ketubot please visit our gift shop, Chosen Treasures (723-7324). Chosen Treasures can<br />

order personalized kippot, too.<br />

Post-Ceremony Reception or D<strong>in</strong>ner<br />

Should you choose to use Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim <strong>for</strong> a post-wedd<strong>in</strong>g gather<strong>in</strong>g, the follow<strong>in</strong>g<br />

additional fees will apply:<br />

Post-ceremony Reception <strong>in</strong> the Garden <strong>and</strong>/or the Berl<strong>in</strong>sky Atrium Lobby $225<br />

Post-ceremony Reception or Meal <strong>in</strong> the Barbara Pearlst<strong>in</strong>e Social Hall $475<br />

(Includes use of kitchen on the day of the event, five hours of use of Social Hall, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g<br />

time <strong>for</strong> set up <strong>and</strong> clean up, <strong>and</strong> one facility manager.)<br />

If you are <strong>in</strong>terested <strong>in</strong> a post-wedd<strong>in</strong>g celebration, please be <strong>in</strong> touch as soon as possible!<br />

Reservation Deposit<br />

To secure your reservation, you must return a signed Letter of Agreement along with a check <strong>for</strong><br />

the deposit as outl<strong>in</strong>ed <strong>in</strong> the Agreement.<br />

Cancellation<br />

If you cancel the wedd<strong>in</strong>g <strong>for</strong> any reason, you may obta<strong>in</strong> a 75% deposit up to two months prior<br />

to the ceremony. After that time, you will receive a 25% refund.<br />

GUIDELINES FOR VIDEOGRAPHERS AT KAHAL KADOSH BETH ELOHIM<br />

Please give this to your videographer prior to the wedd<strong>in</strong>g date. Any questions should be<br />

directed to the Executive Director by call<strong>in</strong>g 723-1090.<br />

All videographers must provide the Temple with an <strong>in</strong>surance certificate list<strong>in</strong>g the<br />

Temple as an additional <strong>in</strong>sured <strong>and</strong> loss payee as well as a current copy of their<br />

Bus<strong>in</strong>ess License.<br />

Videotap<strong>in</strong>g is allowed, us<strong>in</strong>g available light, dur<strong>in</strong>g wedd<strong>in</strong>g ceremonies from a<br />

designated station <strong>in</strong> the balcony of the sanctuary. Please make note of the follow<strong>in</strong>g<br />

rules relevant to videotap<strong>in</strong>g. Adherence to these rules will ensure an un<strong>in</strong>terrupted<br />

videotape of your simcha.<br />

1) Videographer shall set up <strong>in</strong> the balcony of the sanctuary as directed by the Manager<br />

on Duty <strong>in</strong> a location so as not to be a distraction or <strong>in</strong> the way of the musicians. Set-up<br />

MUST be completed 30 m<strong>in</strong>utes prior to the beg<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g of the service.<br />

2) Videographer shall not move from this location dur<strong>in</strong>g the service. (No roam<strong>in</strong>g)<br />

3) Videographer shall not attach any microphones or wires to any part of the bimah, the<br />

podiums, the rail<strong>in</strong>g, the wedd<strong>in</strong>g participants, etc.<br />

4) Videographer shall plug <strong>in</strong>to KKBE’s audio system only. The jack is approximately<br />

twelve feet from where the videographer is allowed to set up the camera.<br />

Videographer should br<strong>in</strong>g a long electrical cord <strong>and</strong> any necessary adaptors.<br />

First time videographer must make an appo<strong>in</strong>tment with the Executive Director prior<br />

to the wedd<strong>in</strong>g to check the compatibility of the videographer’s equipment with the<br />

sanctuary audio system.<br />

5) The Rabbi will not tolerate any violations of the above rules <strong>and</strong> may stop the<br />

wedd<strong>in</strong>g service as a result of any of the above rules not be<strong>in</strong>g honored. A videographer<br />

not comply<strong>in</strong>g with these rules will be asked to leave the service <strong>and</strong> will not be allowed<br />

to complete the video record<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

• Photographs may be scheduled <strong>in</strong> the sanctuary 90 m<strong>in</strong>utes be<strong>for</strong>e the ceremony.<br />

• We will provide the services of our Rabbi <strong>for</strong> pre-ceremony meet<strong>in</strong>gs, our KKBE<br />

<strong>Wedd<strong>in</strong>g</strong> Director <strong>for</strong> the wedd<strong>in</strong>g rehearsal <strong>and</strong> the day of the wedd<strong>in</strong>g, the use of our<br />

Chuppah, the use of the Library, the use of a room <strong>for</strong> the sign<strong>in</strong>g of the Ketubah, <strong>and</strong><br />

the use of the Sanctuary <strong>for</strong> a one (1) rehearsal to be scheduled at mutually convenient<br />

time. Schedul<strong>in</strong>g should be coord<strong>in</strong>ated with the Executive Director.<br />

In return <strong>for</strong> the above, you agree to pay the follow<strong>in</strong>g directly to KKBE.<br />

A deposit of $425 must be <strong>in</strong>cluded with this Letter of Agreement to reserve the space.<br />

The balance of $550 must be paid no less than thirty (30) days prior to the ceremony.<br />

$850 Sanctuary <strong>and</strong> KKBE <strong>Wedd<strong>in</strong>g</strong> Director (No charge <strong>for</strong> the Rabbi.)<br />

$125 Security Fee (If there will be 100 guests or more.)<br />

If you choose to have an organist, our organist’s fee is $200 <strong>and</strong> would be paid directly to her no<br />

later than the day of the wedd<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

We have read the <strong>Wedd<strong>in</strong>g</strong> <strong>Related</strong> <strong>Fees</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Policies</strong> <strong>and</strong> agree to abide by them.<br />
