2.1. Listed and Proposed Species Potentially in the
Biological Study Area
Fourteen federally listed species are included on the species list provided by the
USFWS for the proposed project (Table 1). Of these species, the San Joaquin kit fox
has potential to occur in the BSA. The remaining species are not expected to occur in
the BSA due to the lack of suitable habitat, because they were not observed during
surveys, or because they are not known to occur in the immediate project vicinity.
