The 2012 polo season culminated on March 18 with
a befitting finale made possible in partnership with
the argentine embassy, the Chaîne de rôtisseurs and
other special event partners.
bringing back the tradition and grandeur of old
polo celebrations, members and guests attended
the president’s Cup in their most dapper look with
matching hats.
The low Goal game of round robin geared the
afternoon into action. it was an interesting showcase
of talents as the young bloods played side by side with
the seasoned players. in the end, the Orange team
beat the Green and yellow teams with a final score
of 5 goals.
MpC president roman azanza Jr. and argentine
ambassador h.e. Joaquin Daniel Otero marked the
second part of the program with their grand entrance
in Mini Cooper. The Club president gave a welcoming
remarks followed by the ceremonial salute of players
and official throw-in.
2012 President's Cup
The blues of benjie Toda, Jay de Jesus, Gus aguirre,
and Jake Zobel won 12 against the reds of Jerome
hernandez, sonny borromeo, adrian Garcia, and santi
elizalde with 6, in the high Goal game of six chukkers.
The awarding ceremony was also notable as the
argentine embassy awarded Medals of appreciation to
all players and a special award to the Most Valuable
player of the season. The trophies for the winners
of the low and high Goal matches were handed by
MpC president roman azanza, Jr. and past president
Federico borromeo.
after the awarding, a parade of lavish food and
cocktails were enjoyed by all. an intimate degustation
and dinner was held for the polo players, board
Members, dignitatries, and Chaîne de rôtisseurs
representatives hosted by past president and
Mrs. Federico borromeo.
